Zemichael D. Gebeyehu

My name is Zemichael D. Gebeyehu, born and raised in Addis Ababa. I am a high school senior student at Abune Gorgorious School. My life is filled with space flight curiosity, starting from 5th grade, my enthusiasm for aerospace vehicle pushed my passion and intellectual preference for aerospace engineering and related sciences. From that time on, I have been a member of ESSS. I spend lots of my time in reading and animating flight simulation. From a research perspective, I have presented many prototype design of aerospace vehicles in over 7 ESSS general assemblies.

“I’m very excited to receive the Youth leadership award. I have no words to express my genuine thanks to the Ethiopian Space Science Society and WOSL for the opportunity. This is an amazing opportunity in my endeavor and I believe that ESSS and WOSL made a cornerstone for my future career.”

Bruuktawit Aklilu

My name is  Bruuktawit Aklilu but almost everyone I know calls me Bruuk. I am 17, a  rising senior at Nazareth School and a physics and music enthusiast. I am a very active member of the MUN community in Addis and been a  Space science club member at Nazareth since the 5th grade(this is how I formed relations with the ESSS). I spend my time reading, listening to music, re-watching Rick and Morty and looking into Teletubbie conspiracy theories.

“Getting to attend a program that incorporates leadership in the Natural Science sphere made me very happy. To visit MIT, the UN and the World Bank is an awesome experience let alone to take classes and training there. I would like to pass on my immense gratitude to the WOSL and ESSS for this opportunity. I hope to gain a lot from this program and will do my utmost best to represent the ESSS and Nazareth School in all their potentials.”
